In a collaborative material exploration painter Clément Bedel's approach to color and form merges with Lucas Schmid's design and metal craftsmanship in a series of unique table tops mounted on fitted steel frames.

Each piece creates a material narrative, transforming Bedel's painted inner worlds into immersive landscapes that extend beyond the traditional canvas, providing these FANTOPLAST panels a distinctive aesthetic dimension.

The centerpiece table—the largest in the series—accommodates up to 8 seated people, making it perfect for spacious dining rooms or cozy and warm living rooms. The movable feet provide both flexibility and stability enhancing the table top's stone-like features.

The collaborators

FANTOPLAST

was founded in the summer of 2022 by Raphael Volkmer, Alessia Scuderi, Julian Jankovic, Florian Schäfer, and Max Scheidl and is active in the fields of open-source research, education, and sustainable manufacturing.

Headquartered in Vienna's Seestadt district, FANTOPLAST produces sustainable, aesthetically and technically high-quality panels from regionally sourced plastic waste that can be used for a variety of projects in design and architecture – for furniture construction, interior design, wall cladding, indoor and outdoor areas, wet rooms, or DIY projects.

CLÉMENT BEDEL

is a French painter based in Vienna. He grew up in Les Vosges, a rural region in eastern France characterized by extensive forests and sparse human presence – an environment that continues to influence his work.

After graduating from the École Supérieure d'Art de Nancy in 2017, he continued his training at the Fakultet Likovnih Umetnosti in Belgrade, where he lived and worked until 2020.

Favoring painting, Clément creates hybrid compositions that capture suspended moments between collapse and rebirth. His vibrant, incisive works, evoke a world in mutation where the resilience of nature defies the idea of extinction. Instense streams of color – symbolizing pollution – merge with plants, trees and brutalist relics in perpetual transformation.

is an art producer and designer living and working in Vienna. As founder of Werkbuero, he pursues the goal of mediating, designing, and realizing projects across various industries.
